Philosophy:  As part of St. Theresa Parish, our school embodies the notion of family, community and solid values, all of which contribute to an excellent education for your children.  We are committed to the spiritual, intellectual, social and physical development of each child in our care.  Our strong academic program is challenging and exceeds New York State curriculum mandates, yet recognizes the individual needs of all our children.  Our test scores consistently place us above neighboring schools.  Our philosophy is based on upholding the dignity of every human being with unconditional kindness and mutual respect. As an Archdiocesan  Catholic school, St. Theresa has a rich tradition of incorporating  service projects to deal with social issues into the curriculum, teaching students the value and responsibility of helping others as an expression of faith and good citizenship.  Our goal is that students will realize their fullest potential in the safe, warm and nurturing environment that is St. Theresa School.

Student Body and Class Size:  Our student body is comprised of 368+/- children from many ethnic backgrounds with a predominant portion being of Italian heritage.  There are smaller percentages from other European, Hispanic and Asian cultures as well as African-American children.  We have learned that our school can support our class sizes since our students are offered a learning structure; they are taught values, discipline and self-control, as
well as respect for each other and for adults.  In addition, our ITBS scores indicate that our educational environment produces results well above the City averages.
