Sacraments and
Religious Education Program:
The Religious Program in the
parish meets on Wednesday evenings and Sunday
mornings. The 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade classes
meet on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and
the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders meet on Sunday
mornings. All children attending public school in
the area are welcome and are encouraged to be with
us to grow in their Catholic Faith.
We follow a graded curriculum
for each year so that the total spiritual
development of the child is given the opportunity to
grow and blossom. The Sacraments of
Reconciliation/Communion and Confirmation are the
focus of the 2nd and 7th graders respectively.
Our Religion teachers all are
volunteers and are called Catechists which means, in
Greek, echo of God. Our Catechists are devoted
people... college students, mothers and
fathers, all
who feel the call of God to spread the Good News of
Jesus not only in their own families,
but also in
their Parish Community family.
We celebrate our Faith at
Sunday Liturgy where God's presence is made known to
us in his Holy Word and in the Eucharist. Prayer,
reading the Bible, actively participating in class
and a weekly class Mass involves the children in
their Faith to their greatest potential. As the
children sing, "We are the Church, Happy to be the
Children in God's Family, We are spreading the good
news, We are feeding the hungry, We are building the
Kingdom of God on Earth."
